America Reads

 

 

 

America Reads is a work study program affiliated with Penn State University.  It provides opportunities for students to work with children of all ages in a variety of different placements and locations.  I was fortunate enough to get to expereience this opportunity during the 2014 spring semester at Penn State.  I worked at the Bennett Family Center two days a week, in an infant to three years of age room and then a preschool room with three to five year olds.  I also got to work at Eastrly Parkway Elementary School one day a week in a first grade classroom.  I was able to work with children at a variety of different ages, allowing me many opportunitnites to work with kids at different skills and developmental levels.
