Samantha Varano

I did my pre-service teaching during the fall semester of my freshman year (fall 2011).  At the time, I was attending Penn State Berks and was able to work in schools in inner-city Reading, PA.  I was in three classrooms; one pre-school, one kindergarten class, and one third grade class.  A majority of the students were Spanish-speaking, ESL students who understood very little English and lived in areas of high poverty and crime.    

During my time in each placement, I was able to retain a lot of rich experiences with the different teachers and with the diverse group of students.
